The strange thing about this blog is.. I don't even know what kind of blog it is. It's not a food blog because I don't follow "food blog rules", like putting down prices, addresses, rating and what not. It's not quite a personalized "this is what I do everyday" mundane blog (or at least I hope not), it's not really a photoblog either. It's kind of... just a blog.

This blog was actually started in June 2003, when I was typing lyKe dIS and thought it was "cool" to do those random online quizzes and post their results on, lyKe dIS:

Which character of Haibane Renmei are you?
Nemu: You are mature and relaxed, balanced and agreeable; extremes are not part of who you are. You can sometimes help put people back on the right path, if they really listen to you; !@##%$$%^ yadayada-----

Yea, something like that. BS. Everyone goes through that phase, usually at around age 10-15. Some people stay stuck in that phase and continue doing pointless quizzes well past their twenties, but me? I'm definitely over it. Facebook is a major facilitator of time-wasters like quizzes for the current young generation. No wonder the human race is getting stupider and dimmer as the generations go on.

Anyway! None of all that nonsense now, it slowly became more of a photo blog, and then more features of food... I suppose eventually this blog will change out of this food phase when interest in food is lost (then it turns into a blog about um... work? please no.) For now, the food adventures continues!

From Week 28-30, 2010

It was another day of photoshoot for my sister and her fiance. Wait, I have a feeling my photos are a tad out of order here. This was from before we went to Glebe for the tram shed shots, so we went to "Masaka" at Broadway. What a weird name for a Japanese restaurant.

From Week 28-30, 2010
"Masaka" without looking at the kanji is really just an exclamation of disbelief, like, "no way, dude!!! o O"

From Week 28-30, 2010
Menu had some pretty quirky sets though.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Amongst the common "chicken teriyaki" and "katsu bento", there's squid, lamb, wagyu... etc~

From Week 28-30, 2010
Tako weiner san!!

From Week 28-30, 2010
Ox tongue bento

From Week 28-30, 2010
It's a squid!!

From Week 28-30, 2010
Instead of weiner-san in some of the bento, they had soft shell crab instead.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Icie was the one who ordered the squid set, and in the middle section, they had this inside: some raw kind of squid which tasted... pretty funky.

From Week 28-30, 2010
What I order: lamb set. It came with soft shell crab on the side =D

From Week 28-30, 2010
Dad's wagyu beef set. Out of focus, I think the camera liked the sesame seeds more than the beef.

From Week 28-30, 2010
And then for dinner, it was Lamb claypot round 2!

From Week 28-30, 2010
Inside. This was to celebrate my mum's birthday, which is 4 days after my dad's birthday.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Of course, it had to be at HER favourite restaurant. No prizes guessing where... =_=

From Week 28-30, 2010
It was pretty nice- this fish was fried really crispy and then smothered with sweet and sour sauce with pineapple bits. Then now I'm thinking of the clayfish which the challenger cooked in last night's Iron Chef battle of Chinese Cabbages against Iron Chef Chen Kenichi, who also made a fish dish with a red snapper. Aunt Jane loses hands down, but nonetheless, my mum loves Aunt Jane's Kitchen, so no surprise, we celebrated her birthday with a dinner there.

From Week 28-30, 2010
Because my sister and her fiance (FL would put it as foreseeable-future-brother-in-law, which is a ridiculously long title to give to my foreseeable future brother-in-law, so it's just "sister's fiance" for now) were still in Sydney, and I had work that day, my parents took pity on the fact that I'll be missing out on all the fun- icie took a week off, and I wasn't so lucky.... so that morning before I went to work at 1:45pm, my parents brought us to yum cha at Carlingford. I'm not exactly sure what the restaurant is called, but it's not on Carlingford Court, it's on the other side. I recommend it!!

From Week 28-30, 2010
Strange femented pipis that's meant to go with the cuttlefish balls on the top right corner of the photo. Tried the pipis by itself, it was extremely salty... as expected. Must say though, yum cha before going to work is the ultimate bliss. If only I could do that everyday... I'll probably be triple my size, but what a great way to start the day!! Compared to my usual... coffee... plus.... *insert random food item* start to a day....

Strange how far behind my blog entries are. Been meaning to put up entry after entry this week, but I started this one, and left it for 6 days half finished. So much for "short and fast entries"....

Oh! Just finished watching Masterchef finale!! Yayyyy... been rooting for Adam ever since I started watching Masterchef. Which was only during the finals week, but yea =D A fan of Sakai won!! He must have gotten his inspiration from Sakai, he must have. That's why he won~ =)
